Short Skirt, Shorter Concert

Celebrity Behavior
Accused: Britney Spears
Crime: Short concert time
Penalty: Possible Obscurity
Stardum often finds itself in the strangest of places but a surprise concert at the House of Blues in Anaheim by Britney Spears was not even what Stardum was expecting. The crowd was sold out for a concert billed as The M & M’s. Who would buy a ticket for The M & M’s? Well, apparently quite a few people, especially when surrounding the concert are the rumors and Internet buzz that it is going to actually be Britney performing for the first time in several years.
So we waited patiently and low and behold out comes a prancing mini skirt and pink bra sporting Britney, sans children and baby fat. She looked pretty good considering the recent press photos and head shaving event.
The concert itself was a mad bust with Britney presumably lip-syncing the entire theatrical strip tease act and leaving the stage within 15 minutes with a nasally, “Good Bye.”
Is this the first step in a major come-back or a step back into the house and off the stage for good this time?
You be the judge and let STARDUM know what your verdict is.

Dayglo Abortions
Holy Shiite

Goddamn there’s nothing like a day at the beach, watching the waves break, listening to the Dayglo Abortions most recent album Holy Shiite. The album is their eighth release on plastic. The cd contains 16 tracks of pure social commentary using the latest brand of sarcasm, irony, titties, pot and beer to break down barriers mentally. And they succeed as usual. Holy Shiite is by far one of the best releases of the last few years, dominating all others with a classic punk attitude, hand crafted guitar licks, and drumming that could cause a Japanese child to seizure up. Don’t miss out on songs like, “Gutter Ball, Release the hostages, and Is this how a punk song goes?,” along with so many others we couldn’t possibly name them all here*. So do yourself and your ear buds a favor and think about checking out the Dayglo Abortions
Make sure to go to godrecords.com for all your Dayglo Abortions needs.
At God Records you can find cds, t-shirts, tour info, and much, much more.
(We actually could name them all here, we’d rather you just investigate and enjoy.)
Dance-Mo: A new movement
Music Review:
Last Winter record labels Fueled By Ramen and Decaydance released their “Winter Sampler 2006“ compilation album to the public. It was at shows featuring acts like Cobra Starship, Gym Class Heroes and The Academy Is that sampler become available and given away for free to lucky fans and followers. But it’s only now that the collection is being recognized for it’s unique presentation.
The 10 song sampler contains a live track by The Academy Is, along with tracks from Forgive Durden, This Providence, Cobra Starship, Cute is What We Aim for, and etc. Mixing bouncy up tempo beats from fun loving songs with a darker more instrumentally melodic tone that comes with some of the harder bands this compilation works well in any setting.
Get your copy of the Fueled By Ramen and Decaydance Winter Sampler 2006 at various shows.

This film does not Blow
DVD Review:
Blow

“Based on a true story, Blow chronicles the high-speed rise and fall of George Jung(Johnny Depp), who become the largest importer of Colombian cocaine to the United States, forever changing the face of drugs in America. Set in the decadent 70’s and 80’s, Blow traces George Jung’s partnership with Pablo Escobar, one of the most infamous and dangerous drug lords in history. Ray Liotta, Penelope Cruz and Paul Reubens also star in this riveting film.” This review was taken directly from the back of the DVD case cause we at STRDUM thought they said it pretty damn well. We can only agree as film watchers and say Blow is a damn fine film of a higher caliber then some and much much better then most.
Bonus Content: Watching Paul Reubens create a very sleazy character.
Poignant Moment: The interview with the real George Jung from Prison.
Office Space: That’s my red stapler..
DVD Review:
Office Space
![]()
Mike Judge creates an office so universal it can’t help but become the office every one on Earth has worked in and Office Space is that film that all these same people identify with. We’ve all put in our time “working for the man” while wishing for something else; Mike Judge just went and made a movie about it.
Office Space is the story of white-collar worker Peter Gibbons and what happens when he decides he’s not going to take it any more. Let’s just say passive aggressive comedy ensues. Office Space showcases the deadpan skills of Ron Livingstone while also allowing Jennifer Aniston to take part in a comedic role larger then her normal characters. Watch Office Space for help in dealing with the workweek and for that scene where that one guy is all like, “Ya, I showed her my “O” face.”
Office Space: a good movie with a great cast of characters.
