Random yet revealing

A Random Collection of DVD’s we spotted while discussing literature, rebound relationships, cheeseburgers, and onion rings:
Van Wilder: The Unrated Version; Great comedy, Ryan Reynolds has perfect timing.
Signs: M. Knight Something or other, Mel Gibson, cornfields; I enjoyed it.
Bringing Down the House: Owning this film speaks volumes for your character.
Pulp Fiction: Hated it. Then loved it. Then watched it on acid. Now frightened of it.
Beavis and Butthead Do America: Very nostalgic of the time spent blowing sh*t up.
South Park: Hands down an Academy recognized film, musical, and creative masterwork.
Bad Boys 2: Good cast, ridiculous situations and consequences. Have fun life goes on.

Each one of these films was meticulously viewed, processed, turned into a pie chart, eaten, and thought about a lot. You don’t get this quality just anywhere. For a complete list of websites doing better, more in-depth, probably wittier film reviews, go to the links below:

Something Quick and Spicy

July 30, 2007 | Filed Under Exclusives, Mini Bar | No Comments

You can thank the devils at Maxim Magazine for pictures of pretty girls, recipes involving Bacon grease and this stomach churning drink. The drink comes with no name (insert joke about one’s mother) and is labeled as possibly inducing hallucinogenic diarrhea: which is why we have selected it to hold court in the STRDUM Mini-Bar All-Star Collection. Let’s name the drink “El Bano Diablo.” If you don’t get it, that’s cool, cause you will once you’ve had it. Recipe and Preparation: Take a metal cocktail shaker and insert half a Lime and half a small jalapeno; muddle the ingredients together with either a wooden spoon or sufficient smashing device; add 2 oz. of quality silver tequila, fill shaker with generous amount of ice. Now that you’ve got the pulverized lime half and jalapeno half mixed with tequila and ice, cover the end of the shaker and start shaking like Michael J. Fox. Once you’ve whipped yourself and the drink into a froth mouthed frenzy, strain into a shot glass and enjoy.Tip: When drinking with friends always keep the Charmin Extra stocked up and ready.

HairSpray! Like Bacon Grease for the masses!

July 27, 2007 | Filed Under Entertainment, Film, Musicals, movies, reviews | No Comments

“This is what would happen if Willy Wonka made a movie out of the skin of dead Umpaloompas.”

“It’s that good!?”

Hairspray: Happy, fun, singing, bright eyed child and tweenage actors prance wholesomely across sets sugary enough to rot molars and colors loud enough to deafen whole convalescent homes. The movie holds court with Christopher Walken, Amanda Bynes, Zac Efron, and a grip of other great actors, singing their hearts out. With lessons of individuality and social awareness surging like gingerbread waves this movie made one viewer go into a diabetic shock.

Uuhm, see this film on acid?

Movies, Movies, Films and Movies!

Movies now playing

Artic Tale: A wonderful tale of a Polar bear family, we guess from a pic in L.A. Weekly, as told by Queen Latifah. Tongue biting begin now. But seriously she’s a great personality and Polar bears are cuddly. Could it be the next March of the Penguins?

I know who killed me: Well needless to say Director Chris Sivertson has got his hands full with this studio lioness. The film looks artsy but bad from the bad poster art we pass. It appears over thought out. The tagline: “If you think you know the secret think twice.”
Isn’t the slogan for MTV’s The Real World, “If you think you know you have no idea.” Damn, how good was that…? The writer who committed that last sentence to reality has been let go indefinitely. One thousand apologies to you. The film is going to have footing but will be seen as only frosting, a cake-less recipe. Only time will tell.

Talk to Me: Don Cheadle as a classic radio personality, awards and praise everywhere, and Martin Sheen. Sounds good from here. Cedric The Entertainer entertains as well as Mike Epps in this film inspired by a true story. The film is out now.

Who’s your Caddy?: Titled as, “This Summer, It’s the Street vs. the Elite.” See this film wearing neutral colors and rocking a Kangol.

Bukowsical? Will there be vomiting?

July 23, 2007 | Filed Under Entertainment, Music, Nick Sinn | No Comments

Anytime we see the name Bukowski in a title or summary we look a little closer. Seriously, the man is a very accomplished filthy old poet who deserves to rest in peace. That said, there’s this wacky musical making the Los Angeles rounds right now that features the skid marked man as their focal point. But really the musical is more about bad musicals and the process of creating a musical out of a topic that seems, well, unmusical. Enter Chuck Bukowski as the music muse, weird.
The musical is being performed at the KingKing(21 & over) located at 6555 Hollywood Blvd. Tickets are running at about $25 a pop. The website says you don’t need to be a well-read Bukowski fan to have fun, laugh and understand.
If you see this craziness before us tell us your opinion and comments.

Make sure to go to Bukowsical.com for the history of and tickets.
Tickets also available at Tix.com

Girl, that is crazy wicked stupid awesome news! Ya, it’s being presented by Star Productions. Oh, like STARDUM ENT.? No, girl, STARDUM ENT. is more of a youth oriented platform for news, shows, humor, music, film, and sick ass extreme sports reporting. Oh ya, no duh.
But anyways girl-y girl the Kodak Theatre is located at the Hollywood and Highland Center and tickets are available at ticketmaster.com. Pearl Jam doesn’t like ticketmaster so if you’re the same way you can always grab a pair at the Kodak Theatre Box Office.”

Gotta love K-Earth 101 FM for helping bring the Jersey Boy out West.
